Music was announced back in 2015 at the Venice Film Festival and was originally due for release in October 2019, however, the movie’s star Kate Hudson later claimed it “should be out in 2020”.

Besides Hudson, Music will also star dancer and frequent Sia collaborator Maddie Ziegler, as well as Tony-winning Hamilton actor Leslie Odom Jr. The film is Furler’s directorial debut. She also co-wrote and -produced the movie alongside writer Dallas Clayton and producer Vincent Landay, respectively.

The singer also noted that she has “a few features coming up”, and one of those was revealed today: Sia will feature on K-pop superstars BTS’ new album, Map Of The Soul: 7, on the track titled ‘ON.’

Responding to a fan on Twitter, she said: “I have a few features coming up but am focused on my movie which is now due for release Sept, it’s a musical so after I promote that I’ll put out a new album. I have two waiting to go! (sic)”

The Australian artist often wears a dramatic wig to obscure her face and to protect her privacy. She is best known for her tracks Chandelier and Cheap Thrills, but has also written more than 100 pop songs for artists including Rihanna, Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Adele.

Sia has been open about her issues with drug and alcohol addiction, but has previously not spoken about Ehlers-Danlos syndrome in the public.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the syndrome is a group of inherited disorders that affects connective tissues, and symptoms typically include flexible joints and stretchy, fragile skin. People tend to suffer from joint pain and dislocations, according to the clinic’s website.

At least 1 in 5,000 people worldwide have the syndrome, according to the US National Institute of Health.

More than 163,000 people had liked Sia’s tweet and many people who said they had the syndrome thanked her for bringing more awareness to the disease.
